But why are slugs a problem in the garden in the first place? It‘s simple: slugs in particular are known to destroy the fruit and vegetables you grow. Damage to seedlings is particularly tragic, as it often leads to the death of the plant. The slug traps effectively protect your plants so that they continue to grow healthily and you can enjoy the fresh fruit.

Beer instead of poison: Many insect, animal and slug traps only work with poison bait, which also poses a health risk to humans and animals if used incorrectly. In contrast, these snail traps do not use poisons and instead rely on the enticing scent of beer. The fact is that snails are attracted to the smell of beer. All you have to do is pour around 400 milliliters of the drink into the trap and the slugs will crawl in all by themselves.

How to set the trap correctly: A big advantage is that the snail traps are ready for use in a flash. The inconspicuous containers are placed in close proximity to the vegetable or strawberry patch. The lower part must stand level on the ground or be buried in the soil until the upper edge is flush with the ground. As previously mentioned, all that remains to be done is to pour the beer into the trap. Optionally, add two teaspoons of salt. And now it‘s time to put the lid on and wait!
