Fun for all ages at home and on the go: Mikado game with wooden sticks
The classic game: The timeless Mikado dexterity game is suitable for the whole family. Without much equipment, a complicated set of rules or a lot of space, you can simply play together and communicate for as long as you decide. Even the children in the group will playfully and effortlessly experience the success of an ever-improving hand-eye coordination.
Mikado components and quantities: There are 41 sticks made of FSC-certified wood with a length of 18 cm. The coloured markings applied to each stick show different point values. The total value of all sticks is 170 points. This is divided into:
1 x Mikado stick: blue (or black) ringed = 20 points
5 x Mandarin stick: blue - red - blue = 10 points each
5 x Bonzen stick: red - blue - red - blue - red = 5 points each
15 x Samurai stick: red - yellow (or green) - blue = 3 points each
15 x Kuli stick: blue - red = 2 points each.
How it works: Player 1 holds the sticks upright together in one hand over the playing surface and then simply lets them fall by opening the hand. However they land, they must be removed one by one. The only rule is that when picking up the chosen stick, no other stick is allowed to move. If it does, the turn passes to the next player. Directly grasping the stick, propping it up by pressing on one tip, or flicking it up with a stick already won are permitted techniques. Once all the sticks have been picked up, the game ends. The winner is the player who scores the most points according to the markings on the sticks.
