Lights up as if by magic: a glow stick does not need a flame or batteries. This is because the magical, mysterious glow of glow sticks is based solely on what is known as chemiluminescence. When the plastic casing is bent, two initially separate liquids are mixed together. This results in a chemical reaction that releases energy in the form of light. Even in the pouring rain or far from civilization, a bright and colourful light source is available.
