The olive tree belongs to the genus of oil trees. It can grow up to 20 metres high and live up to 1,000 years. Olive trees are primarily cultivated for harvesting olives. They are only felled if they bear no fruit for a longer period of time. Olive wood processing is a prime example of how it is possible to produce eco-friendly and health-promoting products in harmony with nature that not only support environmental protection but are also functional and beautiful. Olive wood has a honey-yellow colour, an expressive grain and outstanding material properties. It is a very hard wood, therefore cut-resistant and does not absorb liquids or odours inside the products. Most items are handmade and, due to the unique grain, are one of a kind.
